Lawyer Fees

I don’t think I’m being treated fairly, but how can I afford a lawyer to represent me?

Eminent Domain Services, LLC is a law firm dedicated to defending Wisconsin landowner rights in eminent domain and other property rights issues. First of all, we offer an initial consultation free of charge. It is very important to obtain guidance as early in the process as possible, so please contact us as early in the process as possible to arrange an absolutely free consultation.

If it comes about that you need legal assistance, we offer several different fee arrangements such as contingency fee, hourly fee and even sometimes pro bono (free of charge). We work with landowners to make sure there is a way for them to defend their rights in a cost effective and manageable way. Once we know more about your unique situation we will be able to work with you to find the appropriate arrangement that works for you.

Wisconsin has a law that allows landowners to recover all attorneys fees and expenses from the government/utility company through the eminent domain process. There are a number of different scenarios where this is possible. One of the more common scenarios, however, is that landowners can recover all of their attorney fees and expenses when they ultimately recover 15% more than the amount of the jurisdictional offer from a jury or condemnation commission. The jurisdictional offer is the last offer from the government/utility company before using the eminent domain power.
